Fabulous Friday Technology Tip(F2T2)- Volume 2- 14th edition





Congratulations!!!  The final Friday of October is Here!!!!
This is the “14th edition" of the Fabulous Friday Technology Tip (F2 T2) that shares technology tools and resources that can be integrated into your daily lessons, unit plans and classroom centers.

These websites contain over 50 FREE interactive resources and websites for elementary students. Please feel free to favorite these sites.

  • The second resource is Code.org http://code.org/  This resource provides educators, parents, and afterschool professionals with access to participation in computer science by making it available in more schools, and increasing participation by women and underrepresented students of color. Their vision is that every student in every school should have the opportunity to learn computer science.

Several teachers have requested online resources for getting FREE technology for their classrooms. Please check out the resource Donors Choose http://www.donorschoose.org/ DonorsChoose.org makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.

The Department of Instructional Technology is excited to announce that the 2014-2015 Atlanta Public Schools Technology Fair will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2015 from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm at Benjamin E. Mays High School.  The theme for this year's fair is "Let I.T. Go: Unleash Innovative Technology 21st Century Ideas & Creations!" Several teachers have requested online resources for Georgia Milestones Assessment. The state is currently preparing a practice website dedicated to Georgia Milestons.  But, while we wait, please check out the resource PowerMyLearning! http://powermylearning.org/  There are several activities within PowerMyLearning that will allow students to practice some of the technology skills that are needed for the Georgia Milestones Assessment.  PowerMyLearning is Your FREE Platform for Driving Personalized Instruction and Self-Directed Learning: Activities in All K-12 Subjects, Aligned to the Common Core.

Fabulous Friday Technology Tip(F2T2)- Volume 2- 12th Edition





Congratulations!!!  Another Fall Friday is Here!!!!
This is the “12th edition" of the Fabulous Friday Technology Tip (F2 T2) that shares technology tools and resources that can be integrated into your daily lessons, unit plans and classroom centers.

  • The first resource is a list of Interactive Board  resources from TEQ!!!    http://www.teq.com/erc-categories/  The TEQ Educator Resource Center contains interactive whiteboard lessons, resources, and mixed reality 3D content. Download subject-specific SMART Notebook, ActivInspire, Mimio, and RM Easiteach lessons. (Don’t forget! You can use download Smart Notebook lessons and import them into ActivInspire for use in your lessons.) Many of the interactive whiteboard lessons were created by educators during TEQ's Digital Teacher Certification.

  • The second resource is Microsoft Educator Network. http://www.pil-network.com/  This resource contains FREE Lesson Plans, Learning Activities , Professional Development Courses and Microsoft Tools to assist you with integrating APS MyBackpack into your lessons and units.  This site can assist you with preparing your students for the future by integrating 21st century skills that they need. Please check out the resource PowerMyLearning! http://powermylearning.org/  PowerMyLearning is Your FREE Platform for Driving Personalized Instruction and Self-Directed Learning: Activities in All K-12 Subjects, Aligned to the Common Core.  PowerMyLearning is a great tool to guide your students during Center Time/Lab Time and keep them focused on specific standards assigned by you. Teachers are able to monitor their students’ progress through activities that are aligned with the Common Core Standards.
