Fabulous Friday Technology Tip(F2T2)- Volume 2-10th edition



Congratulations!! Fall is officially here!!!!
This is the “10th edition" of the Fabulous Friday Technology Tip (F2 T2) that shares technology tools and resources that can be integrated into your daily lessons, unit plans and classroom centers.

  • The first resource is  E-Learning for Kids  http://www.e-learningforkids.org/   E-learning for kids is a global, nonprofit foundation dedicated to fun and free learning on the internet for children ages 5 - 12. The website offers free, best-in-class courseware in math, science, reading and keyboarding; and they are building a community for parents and educators to share innovations and insights in childhood education.

  • The second resource is Newsela. https://www.newsela.com/ Newsela is an innovative way to build reading comprehension with nonfiction that's always relevant: daily news. It's FREE, easy and amazing. Register now to see the impact Newsela can have on your classroom.

Several teachers have requested a website to assist student with typing in preparation for online assessments. Please check out the resource Typing Web http://www.typingweb.com/  TypingWeb is a free online typing tutor & keyboarding tutorial for typists of all skill levels. TypingWeb includes entertaining typing games, typing tests, and free official typing certification. Teachers are able to monitor their students’ progress through each lesson.

Fabulous Friday Technology Tip(F2T2)- Volume 2- 9th edition

  • The first resource is  Kahoot https://getkahoot.com/.   Kahoot! is a FREE classroom response system which creates an engaging learning space, through a game-based digital pedagogy. Great Learning Starts By Asking Great Questions. This educational platform brings engagement & joy to teaching & learning in any subject!

  • The second resource is ReadWorks. http://www.readworks.org/   ReadWorks provides research-based units, lessons, and authentic, leveled non-fiction and literary passages directly to educators online, for free, to be shared broadly. The ReadWorks curriculum is aligned to the Common Core State Standards and the standards of all 50 states. Most importantly, ReadWorks is faithful to the most effective research-proven instructional practices in reading comprehension.

  • The second resource is from Discovery Education’s Free Teacher Resources. http://www.discoveryeducation.com/teachers/#/map  Discovery Education offers a broad range of free classroom resources that complement and extend learning beyond the bell. Explore their programs and contests, interactive games, puzzles, lesson plans, videos and more!
